There is a pro-business climate in Chemung County because our elected officials at all levels of government have made economic development a top priority. At STEG, we have working partnerships with these officials and will use our relationships to help you succeed.
Collaboration between government officials is a major reason for our success, regardless of the form of government. Our county executive and the city manager of Elmira work together closely. The elected officials in11 neighboring towns and 5 villages also do their part.
In the region, efforts currently underway include identifying potential shared service opportunities among local governments. There is also ongoing support among officials for government reforms that will make Chemung County an even more attractive destination for businesses.
